I was the producer, videographer and editor for this piece, with additional camera provided by Caitlin Kleiboer. It was produced as part of Whole Hog: The Power of Pork. Whole Hog, a multimedia reporting project about energy and relationships in the North Carolina pork industry, is the 2014 edition of the Powering a Nation energy reporting series from the UNC Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The piece was also published by National Geographic in October 2014.
