In Greensboro, NC, a small church community offers sanctuary to Juana Ortega, a Guatemalan grandmother threatened with deportation after 25 years of living and working in the United States.
SANTUARIO was supported by the Tribeca Film Institute IF/Then Shorts initiative. In 2018, it premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival and was awarded Best Documentary Short at the New Orleans Film Festival. The film was broadcast on PBS’ Reel South Season 4.
